SDR Technology, Network Protocols
Point-to-Point Protocol; a network configuration that is used to establish a direct link
or connection between two radios. In general, a Point-to-Point network includes a
Point-to-Point Master, a Slave, and optional Repeater(s).

All data packets in a Point-to-Point network are acknowledged - Master to Slave
packets and Slave to Master packets. This type of network allows two way
communications between the Master and the Slave.
Hybrid Peer-to-Peer Protocol; a network configuration that allows the radios to
communicate directly with one another. This network also allows the user to view and
modify the settings of any remote radio from any radio in the network.

In general, a Hybrid Peer-to-Peer network includes a Master, one or more Slaves, and
optional Repeater(s).
Time Division Multiple Access Protocol (TDMA); a network configuration that allows
multiple radios to use the same frequency by assigning different, predetermined time
slots to each radio in which to transmit/receive or repeat data to the Master radio.

In general, a TDMA network includes a Master, one or more Slaves, and optional
Repeater(s).
Point-to-Multipoint Protocol; a network configuration that is used to establish a
communications link between the Master radio and the Slave radios in the network. In
general, a Point-to-Multipoint network includes a Point-to-Multipoint Master, Slaves,
and optional Repeater(s).

Only data packets sent to the Master in a Point-to-Multipoint network are
acknowledged. This type of network allows two way communications between the
Point-to-Multipoint Master and the Slaves.
