Applications
Besides the common wireless applications, Lexycom's SDRs feature the following:
Key applications
Non-line of sight RF communications - Terra family of SDRs provides Peer-to-Peer Mesh with on-demand RF Repeaters. Slow data rates, low RF frequencies, and output power of up to 50W allow for foliage penetration and/or over-the-horizon links.

Data security - all SDRs can be equipped with Lexycom's miniature FIPS-140-2 NIST-certified AES cryptographic module. Additionally, our FIPS-140-2 AES cryptogtaphic module stores up to four different AES keys and may switch from one of these keys to another on a fly thus cyphering each RF packet differently. In an enhanced-TDMA network this feature allows to form virtual sub-networks - all network players are synchronized, but only the players of a specific sub-network 'understand' each other's RF data.

Fine-tuning RF frequency grid - most of Lexycom's SDRs support RF section tuning in steps of a few Hz. This allows for adjusting radio's frequency to be misaligned with interfering/jamming source. Using Lexycom's software tools one can examine radio performance on each frequency channel of the hopping pattern. This tool helps identify the affected frequencies and can be used for fine tuning of the hopping algorithm.

Military-grade RF performance - almost all of our SDRs meet MIL-STD-461 EMI requirements. In simple terms, our SDRs are spectrum-friendly. More specifically, unlike the products of our closest competitors, the RF port conducted spurious emissions of our radios are at or below -80dBc and our radiated spectrum is very close to the theoretical (no RF 'splatter').

High reliability - our radios incorporate several built-in-tests (BIT). The BITs cover radio's key hardware modules and help radio to perform self-check. Such BITs are a must-have feature for applications that require high reliability from the wireless links. Some of these applications include super-sonic Missile installations, Weapon systems, and commercial installations at hard-to-access sites.

Highly dynamic Ad-Hoc networks - Lexycom has been supplying SDRs for the NATO Jetfighter program for the last 10+ years. The Ad-Hoc has to be self-organizing and self-healing, each SDR has to select downlink route real-time, on packet-by-packet basis, and using ever-changing set of RF neighbors.

Wireless multi-hop 1PPS distribution - our radios can distribute 1PPS in a multi-Repeater RF network with the accuracy of better than 1usec. Such network provides reduction of GPS cold-start time.
